Senior Developer / NLS Configuration Specialist

This role sits at the center of a financial systems and lending platform environment, supporting critical applications and infrastructure tied to loan servicing and transaction processing.

The position combines hands-on software engineering with deep system configuration expertise, specifically within the Nortridge Loan System (NLS). This is not a standard developer role — it requires someone who understands both code and financial system behavior at a configuration level.

Core Responsibilities

• Own full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across financial systems
• Configure and optimize Nortridge Loan System (NLS) at a system level
• Develop solutions using C#, .NET Core, SQL Server, and scripting
• Build automation tools and reusable enterprise components
• Support production systems and partner with support teams
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies
• Apply TDD, unit testing, and secure coding standards
• Contribute to system performance optimization and root cause analysis
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical systems

Required Technical Experience

• 4+ years development experience with:
  • C#, .NET Framework / .NET Core / .NET 5+
  • SQL Server / T-SQL
  • Visual Studio (2022+)
• Strong foundation in:
  • OOP / OOD
  • Stored procedures and database performance tuning
  • Unit testing frameworks
  • REST APIs and microservices architecture
• Experience with:
  • Debugging and troubleshooting production systems
  • Refactoring tools and clean code practices
• Must be comfortable using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.) to improve productivity

NLS Configuration (CRITICAL – MUST HAVE)
This is the defining requirement.

• 3+ years hands-on NLS configuration experience
  • Not user-level — must be system configuration

Must understand:

• Loan Management:
  • Amortization schedules
  • Interest accrual
  • Fee structures
  • Billing cycles
  • Payment distribution logic
• Financial Concepts:
  • GL accounts
  • DR/CR logic
  • Transaction codes
• Technical within NLS:
  • SQL queries and schema understanding
  • XML data imports
  • VBScript (reading/interpreting)
  • ACH configuration
  • UDFs and screen layouts
  • Loan templates and system security
