JOB TITLE: Facility Manager

LOCATION: Conesville, Ohio
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

COMPENSATION:

  • Base Salary: Up to $150,000 (absolute ceiling)

  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Facility Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising 24x7 operations of one or more facilities within a critical facilities environment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep field experience, strong operational judgment, and the ability to lead teams without constant oversight.

This position is best suited for a self-directed, experienced operator—someone who has “been in the field,” understands the realities of facilities operations, and can relate to and lead the technicians and tradespeople they support. This role does not require hand-holding and is not intended for someone learning facilities management for the first time.

After-hours support may be required to sustain continuous operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and supervise all mechanical, electrical, and energy management operations within a critical facilities environment

  • Ensure strict adherence to change control processes, including development, approvals, and execution

  • Assist with hiring, training, and day-to-day management of site operations personnel

  • Lead by example and mentor operations staff in both career and professional development

  • Oversee scheduling, development, and execution of preventive, contracted, and general maintenance

  • Review and approve MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and change requests

  • Continuously evaluate building systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations

  • Enforce safety policies and safe-work practices for employees and contractors

  • Evaluate, assign, and monitor work related to maintenance, operations, and incident response

  • Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders

  • Partner with internal teams to support:

    • Customer tours and events

    • Customer fit-outs

    • Sustainability and safety initiatives

    • Capital projects and audits

  • Assist in developing, managing, and forecasting OPEX and CAPEX budgets

  • Act as first responder during site emergencies (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, escalations)

  • Maintain inventory controls and manage purchasing of parts and supplies

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and governing authorities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority for the facility across all operational disciplines

  • Participate as a key stakeholder in process improvement and operational optimization initiatives

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly manage Leads, CFTs, and CFMTs

  • Responsibilities include:

    • Hiring

    • Scheduling

    • Time & attendance

    • Performance management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive responsibility overseeing building systems and critical facilities equipment

  • Professional licenses strongly preferred (electrical and/or mechanical)

  • Strong ability to interpret AutoCAD, Visio, and technical PDF documentation

  • Demonstrated project management capability

  • Experience developing installation standards and project tracking documentation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including handling sensitive or complex issues

  • High commitment to customer service (internal and external)

  • Working knowledge of codes, laws, regulations, and ordinances related to MEP and facilities operations

  • Ability to estimate installation costs and manage project cost tracking

  • Experience with purchase orders and invoice tracking

  • Proven problem-solving ability with limited or incomplete information

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and respond proactively to unusual events

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Occasional travel may be required for training or business support
