Role Overview
Working under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor, this role focuses on high-level litigation support with a specific emphasis on claims review, data tracking, and production reporting. The specialist performs moderately complex legal research and synopsizes transcripts with minimal direct supervision, ensuring all data products are concise and accurate for attorney use.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience: At least two years of litigation paralegal or task-related project experience.
- Specialized Experience: At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
- Preferred: Direct trial experience and specialized litigation support background.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SharePoint, MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and legal research tools (LEXIS and Westlaw).
- eDiscovery & ESI: Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and a solid understanding of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
- Legal Foundations: Sound working knowledge of federal/state court systems and legal research procedures.
- Systems: Familiarity with document review databases, file management systems, imaging, and hardware.
- Core Competencies: Ability to deliver high-quality work under extreme pressure and excellent written/oral communication skills.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Claims Review & Data Reporting
- Assist in the production of claim review reports, entering data into spreadsheets and documents following established guidelines.
- Identify and highlight trends or differences over time within production data sets for Supervisory Attorney Advisors.
- Generate "pipeline claims" reports to help supervisors identify gaps, outliers, and production bottlenecks.
- Aggregate reports from various teams to prepare comprehensive data packages for leadership.
Operational & Database Support
- Manage data entry into SharePoint and other internal tracking systems.
- Perform cross-checks on data to ensure all reported information is accurate and reliable.
- Support supervisors in managing claim reviewer queues and assigning claims to team members.
- Link and link case-related materials into databases, providing information in a concise, usable format.
Legal Research & Writing
- Perform moderately complex legal research and draft preliminary legal memoranda and correspondence.
- Synopsize transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney review.
- Analyze case-related materials to identify potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring investigation.
Project Coordination
- Track the progress of special projects and provide regular status updates to Supervisors.
- Manage team-wide calendaring for meetings, training sessions, and discussions.
- Prepare presentation materials and notes, ensuring they are properly posted to SharePoint or other collaboration sites.

- Data Integrity: Reports and tracking systems are accurate, synchronized, and free of inconsistencies.
- Efficiency: Pipeline reports and queue management allow Supervisors to identify and resolve operational gaps quickly.
- Quality Under Pressure: Technical legal documents and synopses meet attorney standards even during periods of high demand.
