Learning Program Assistant

Temporary Contract | 4 Months | Full-Time

About the Role

We are a dynamic arts and culture organization that has recently opened an exciting new venue following a significant capital renovation project. With renewed energy and momentum, our Learning team is busier than ever — and we’re looking for a talented Learning Program Assistant to join us for a 4-month contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and organization. You’ll be embedded in a close-knit team of four, supporting a robust calendar of public programming — from lectures and exhibition events to school visits and interactive community experiences.

What You’ll Do

Provide general administrative support including internal scheduling, communications, supply management, attendance tracking, and data entry

Maintain shared program calendars, accounting documents, and internal systems

Assist with onsite program logistics: welcoming speakers, guides, educators, artists, and community partners; managing ticket check-in; distributing signage; arranging catering

Support visitor engagement during gallery events, lectures, drop-in art activities, and demonstrations

Help draft content for the team newsletter and create marketing collateral using Canva

Update internal documents and keep projects on track across the team

Schedule

This is a hybrid role. Hours will vary based on the programming calendar:

        Wednesday (Onsite): 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

        Thursday (Onsite): 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Two days remote (your choice from remaining weekdays)

One weekend per week to support educational programming (your choice)

What We’re Looking For

Hard Skills

Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Drive)

Experience with Canva or similar design tools a plus

Basic comfort with data entry, record-keeping, and tracking tools

Soft Skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented — you catch things others miss

Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Comfortable presenting information and making announcements to groups of all sizes

A natural ability to juggle multiple priorities with calm and confidence

Enthusiasm for the arts, public programming, and community engagement

Respectful of and comfortable engaging with diverse audiences and communities

Experience

At least 1 year of experience working with the public or in a customer-facing role. Experience in arts, culture, education, or nonprofit settings is a bonus but not required.

Compensation & Details

        Pay: $18.28 – $20.26 per hour (Non-Exempt)

Duration: 4-month temporary contract (through June 30, 2026)

Hours: Approximately 35 hours/week (varies with programming schedule)

        Location: Hybrid (onsite + remote)
