Program Coordinator, R&D Operations

 

The Role:

AMD’s embedded business unit is looking for a strong program coordinator for the R&D operation’s team.  R&D operations include all aspects OpEx and CapEx planning and attainment, labor headcount planning and tracking, long-range and annual operational planning, inventory management, hardware planning and management, build and test reference systems, and shipping/receiving.

 

The Person:

This is an individual contributor role that requires excellent organization skills, ability to pay attention to details, and ability to lift 50-pounds, as well as having great interpersonal skills. This position reports into the Director of Operations and is located in Austin TX.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•              Work with Program Managers and management to meet required timelines and commitments, including attending meetings, taking meeting minutes and action items, ensuring teams are following through on action items, providing guidance from experience, etc.

•              Assist with and/or lead process improvement efforts, including researching and developing plans to use Artificial Intelligence (AI).

•              Consolidate new product hardware requests, from internal and external sources, and enter them into our order management system, generating bi-weekly reports to allow teams to manage their programs.

•              Assist with managing development system inventory, including managing inventory locations, routing of hardware to/from inventory keeping inventory database up-to-date, and generating monthly reports.

•              Perform shipping and receiving for R&D team, keeping detailed logs and generating reports as required.

Preferred Experience:

•              Strong program coordinator skills including familiarity with Microsoft products; Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel. (plus, if prior experience implementing AI solutions)

•              Ability to analyze data and generate reports.

•              Must be able to lift 50-pounds.

•              Self-starter that looks to create and enhance processes to improve team efficiency.

•              Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•              Excellent skills of managing up with right set of data/reports to executives for visibility and decision making.

o             Ability to align, resolve conflicts and build consensus among parties working towards the final goal.

o             High sense of urgency, discipline and drive for results.

o             Relentless focus on operational excellence.

 

Academic Credentials:

•              Associates degree with 5+ years of overall corporate experience. (plus, if experience in BU engineering operations role).
