POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Event Transport Operations serves as a key operational leader responsible for the day-to-day execution and oversight of transportation services supporting major event operations. This role manages field-based transportation activity across competition and non-competition venues, ensuring transportation plans are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational service standards. The Manager provides direct leadership to frontline operational teams while supporting real-time decision-making, issue resolution, and operational coordination in fast-paced event environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong operational awareness, leadership under pressure, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders and operational functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Transport Operations Management
• Manage daily transportation operations for assigned venues, client groups, or
operational zones.
• Execute transportation plans to ensure reliable and efficient service
delivery.
Service Delivery & Routing Coordination
• Implement operational schedules, routing plans, and vehicle allocations to
support daily operations.
• Monitor service activity and operational flow to ensure transportation
timelines and requirements are met.
Field Team Leadership
• Supervise, support, and provide direction to frontline transportation staff
and operational teams.
• Assist with workforce coordination, shift oversight, and operational
readiness activities.
Operations Control Support
• Support the Transport Operations Center (TOC) through real-time operational
monitoring, reporting, and issue escalation.
• Assist with identifying and resolving operational disruptions, delays, or
service concerns.
Stakeholder Coordination
• Coordinate closely with venue operations teams, transportation partners,
drivers, security personnel, and event stakeholders.
• Maintain clear communication across operational teams to support unified
event delivery.
Operational Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Assist with operational reporting, event documentation, and lessons learned
processes.
• Provide operational feedback and recommendations for future event
improvements.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all transportation operations comply with safety, accessibility, and
operational service standards.
• Promote safe operational practices across all transportation activities and
loading areas.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
• Represent TMS professionally during operational
activities, meetings, and stakeholder interactions.
• Maintain a calm, solutions-oriented approach in high-pressure operational
environments.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and operational leadership at
all times.
• Ensure accurate operational communication and incident reporting.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
• Strong understanding of transportation operations,
logistics coordination, and event service delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make informed operational decisions under
pressure.
• Strong situational awareness and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comfortable using operational technology, mobile applications, and reporting
tools.
• Knowledge of accessibility operations and ADA transport considerations
preferred.
• Familiarity with major event operations, venue environments, or transport
logistics is considered an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in transportation
operations, logistics, event operations, or related operational leadership
roles.
• Experience supporting large-scale sporting events, public events, venue
operations, or mobility programs is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading operational teams in dynamic field
environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent operational experience
preferred.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
• Fluency in English is required; multilingual or bilingual ability is
considered an advantage.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Field-based operational role across active
transportation and venue environments.
• Long periods of standing, walking, and active operational oversight.
• Exposure to crowds, vehicle movement, weather conditions, and high-volume
event activity.
• Shift-based work including nights, weekends, holidays, and event days.
• Fast-paced operational environment requiring flexibility and responsiveness.
