An I.T. Imaging Analyst is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting systems used for the storage, analysis, and interpretation of medical images (e.g., X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds) to support clinical decision-making. The role involves working closely with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that imaging data is accurately captured, processed, and reported for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure images meet quality standards for diagnostic purposes.
- Manage medical imaging data using specialized software and databases (PACS - Picture Archiving and Communication System).
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in image archiving, retrieval, and storage.
- Ensure systems containing patient images and data comply with privacy and security regulations (HIPAA).
- Utilize advanced image processing software to enhance image quality and clarity.
- Troubleshoot imaging equipment and software issues as needed.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate imaging and diagnostic information.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the imaging department.
- Provide training and support to staff on imaging software use.
- Stay informed about advancements in medical imaging and attend relevant workshops or courses.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in medical imaging, Radiologic Technology, IT, computer science or related field. Certification in imaging technology (e.g., ARRT certification) is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical imaging environment is preferred, with knowledge of various imaging modalities (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PACS, medical imaging software, and other diagnostic tools. Strong understanding of medical imaging technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues with complex medical images.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in image analysis and data management.
- Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and communicate complex technical information.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a hospital, clinic, or medical research setting.
- Position will be on-call. Work may occasionally need to be completed on evenings or weekends.
