The Media Replay Operator I in the Studio Operations Sports group must be proficient in organizing, recording, editing, and playing back server-based material during live and pre-recorded productions. This role ensures all content meets high standards for video and audio quality while managing local media and naming conventions. Work is performed in a fast-paced environment across a wide variety of studio shows and events to deliver quality results.
Key Responsibilities
Operates all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned areas, including the organization and distribution of server content for recording and playback.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of editing techniques on instant replay and non-linear systems.
Measures audio and video signals to ensure quality control of endorsed standards using comprehensive knowledge of broadcast methods.
Trains others in operational areas as needed and generates required training documentation.
Participates in physical, classroom, and virtual training programs for career development and workflow updates.
Demonstrates solid knowledge of plant signal flow and routing.
Participates in special event coverage and projects as necessary.
Performs other duties as needed to help achieve business objectives.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years practical TV Production or related experience at the large market or network level.
Proficient knowledge of TV Production equipment, including video production switchers, server-based recording/playback systems, routers, intercom systems, and signal conversion equipment.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays with flexibility to alter shifts or work overtime.
Ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently, and lead simultaneous projects.
Solid understanding of workflow in other business units and their integration with Production Operations.
Strong organizational, efficiency, and planning skills.
Willingness to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
Solid computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve using effective communication to resolve issues.
Proactive approach to learning the workflows of other business units to enhance processes or educate others.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrable knowledge of Broadcast Communications Equipment.
Understanding of Remote Event Workflows and Terminology.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to partners.
Bilingual skills (written and spoken) in English and Spanish.
Education & Additional Information
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Studio Production.
Location: Onsite in Bristol, CT.
Schedule: Hours and days for this role will be variable.
