Core responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role can be categorized into four main areas:
AI strategy and solutioning
  • Design AI-driven strategies: Work with stakeholders to define how Salesforce's AI tools can be used to achieve business goals, such as improving lead conversion rates, automating customer service, and personalizing the customer experience.
  • Architect solutions: Design and build scalable solutions that leverage Salesforce AI tools like Einstein Prediction Builder, Next Best Action, and Einstein Bots.
  • Integrate AI capabilities: Ensure seamless integration of Salesforce AI with other enterprise systems and third-party applications using APIs and other integration tools. 
Implementation and configuration
  • Configure Salesforce AI tools: Set up and customize Einstein features, such as configuring automated workflows, implementing predictive lead scoring, and creating natural language processing (NLP) based chatbots.
  • Develop AI models: Build, test, and deploy predictive models using CRM data, leveraging AI techniques for tasks like root cause analysis and anomaly detection.
  • Enhance CRM functionality: Build custom applications and automate business processes within Salesforce using Apex, Lightning, and Flow to support AI-driven insights. 
Data management and optimization
  • Ensure data quality: Manage and prepare data for AI models, perform data cleansing, and ensure strong governance for data accuracy and security.
  • Monitor and refine AI performance: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AI models and solutions. Adjust algorithms and model parameters to improve accuracy and business impact.
  • Provide actionable insights: Create reports and dashboards in tools like Tableau CRM (formerly Einstein Analytics) to visualize data-driven insights for stakeholders and end-users. 
Training and governance
  • Serve as a trusted advisor: Act as a subject matter expert for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts and findings into business value.
  • Provide training: Educate end-users and junior team members on how to use AI-powered tools effectively and ethically.
  • Establish best practices: Develop and document standards for AI development, integration, and deployment to ensure quality and security. 
Required skills and qualifications
Technical skills
  • Expertise with Salesforce platform administration and development, including Apex, Lightning components, and Flow.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Einstein, including Einstein GPT, Einstein Prediction Builder, and Tableau CRM.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, such as natural language processing (NLP), predictive modeling, and prompt engineering.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, data modeling, and data preparation for AI.
  • Experience with integrations using APIs and tools like MuleSoft. 
Professional qualifications
  • Experience: Typically requires 3+ years of hands-on project experience with the Salesforce platform.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications from Salesforce, such as Salesforce Certified AI Associate or Einstein Analytics and Discovery Consultant. 
Soft skills
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical topics to business users.
  • Problem-solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to design solutions that meet business requirements.
