Department Overview:

 

Marketing Operations provides media management, post production operations and services, and creative technology support for Disney Entertainment Television Marketing. We work closely with The Walt Disney Company’s creative content organizations and marketing teams to provide operational support across multiple business units producing and delivering top quality promotional content globally. The operations team works at the highest level of performance using cutting edge software and hardware tools to provide professional level in-house post production services to internal marketing partners in a deadline driven high volume environment. This includes an agile, efficient, and technically advanced finishing process, that customizes marketing workflows to launch thousands of successful marketing campaigns across multiple platforms. Team members work together to identify and solve artistic and technical issues before distribution, creating sound and picture that are unsurpassed in quality and audience engagement. When you turn on your television, smart device or however you consume content, you will interact with media to which this team has contributed.

Job Summary:
The Marketing Operations Finishing Editor is responsible for conforming, media onlining, titling and color grading Broadcast and digital promotional assets used to entice viewers to watch original and acquired programming and subscribe to streaming platforms. This role also provides advanced technical post production services for finishing and versioning key marketing assets for Disney Entertainment Television Marketing, including promotional and advertising assets used in paid media plans, B2B Advertising Sales events, Investor Day summits, and experiential consumer events. The Finishing Editor is the last person to touch promotional content before it airs and plays a critical role in ensuring every marketing asset is picture perfect.

 

The role requires advanced technical capabilities including:
• Proficiency in ensuring asset output meets Broadcast legal picture levels, content is formatted in the appropriate resolution, aspect ratio, graphic content resides within title safety zones, and the finished promo is playing at the proper frame rate.
• Must be well versed with file-based workflows, and professional proficiency with import and export settings, edit decision lists, and media management. The position also requires strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with in-house Post Production Supervisors to successfully deliver assets/projects with tight deadlines. This is a deadline driven business and on-time delivery of technically accurate material is essential.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
•Perform professional quality non-linear editing for content promotion, original programming trailers, PR content promotion, and additional marketing and advertising assets that align with enterprise marketing priorities.
•Collaborate with creative executives and producers to perform creative changes as requested by producers and marketing stakeholders, including picture, timing, color correction, and graphics revisions while maintaining professionalism.
•Partner with internal post-production producers, supervisors, and coordinators to quality check each edited video package for visual errors and apply corrections where needed, prior to delivery and on-time with short turn around.
•Partner with management team to implement new editing techniques, media workflows, technology, and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest standards for editorial deliveries

 

Basic Qualifications:


• Minimum 8 years’ experience in television post production.
• Must have expertise in technical specifications utilized for broadcast, cable distribution, OTT distribution and various social media platforms.
• Must possess expertise in Adobe Premiere and Blackmagic Davinci Resolve (including color grading within both tools).
• Must have a positive attitude and great communication skills.
• Must be proficient in various computer software, including PC & Mac environments.
• Must have a high level of visual color acuity and be proficient with DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere, in addition to hands on experience completing professional color correction and video editing for a marketing post-production facility specializing in content promotion, and/or commercial finishing.
• Professional level experience required with setting luminance levels, selecting color spaces, aspect ratios, frame rates, audio configuration, file formats and codecs, in addition to utilizing title safety, and motion graphics. Must be well versed with file types (DPX, TIFF, MOV, etc.), original camera media files, and proficient with EDLs, CDLs, XMLs, and AAFs. Expertise in post production workflows required, including import and export settings, with the ability to manage media and professionally organize color correction settings and presets.
• Must be willing to work in office and on a rotating schedule in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Must be able to work as part of a finishing team that includes other editors, colorists, assistant editors, producers, and mixers. Collaborative spirit required.? Must possess expertise in technical specifications currently being distributed via broadcast, cable distribution, OTT distribution and various social media platforms.
• Must understand creative intent of various spots and be able to enhance quality of final product, both artistically and technically.
• Must be well organized, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be familiar with the Adobe Productions workflow.
• Solid background in television post-production with at least 7 years of professional Adobe Premiere experience, other non-linear editing systems, and compositing experience is a plus.
• Preferred knowledge and experience with High Dynamic Range post production and Leader HD Scopes.

Education:
