The Data Center Technician (DCT) plays a key role in Computacenter United States Inc’s Integration Center, guiding the flow of physical technology products through the warehouse and the integration center, where products are assembled, rack, stacked, configured, and tested to meet specific customer needs.

DCTs work with little or minimal direction, handling products and updating associated information systems for the following business functions: receiving, cycle counting, kitting, inventory, picking, benching, un-benching, packing, shipping, asset management, pre-stage rack and stack activities, and programming and configuration of automation programs as required by customers.

 

What you'll do

High School Diploma or equivalent.

A+ and/or CCNA Data Center Certificate preferred.

BICSI Installer 1 or Fiber Optic Associate certification preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of experience with rack fabrication preferred.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

 

What you have

Able to read and understand rack elevation and cable matrix documentation.

Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure and network topology.

General understanding of cable types, cable management and cable termination preferred.

Able to plan and prioritize against competing projects.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills; highly detail-oriented.

Able to work independently, as well as with peers.

Able to adapt to rapid change.

Knowledgeable or experience in Brady, Panduit, Brother, and Dymo printing software preferred.

Strong working knowledge of computer system applications (e.g.: Windows, Microsoft Office, OSX, Salesforce SAP).

Able to meet the physical requirements of the usual and customary methods of performing the job functions, including: a variety of standing, sitting, and walking throughout the day; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; usage of pallet jacks; carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing, including ladders, and balancing; and significant fine finger dexterity.

Able to work as directed and have a high-level of attention to detail.

Able to follow directions and communicate clearly with other departments.

Must have strong computer skills: MS Excel, Word, and Knowledge/use of ERP, WMS, or similar warehouse management systems.

Able to work with vendors to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
