Datacenter Monitoring and Controls Engineering (DMCE) group is responsible for critical environment monitoring and controls application deployment and service at Microsoft datacenters.

This Battery Monitoring System (BMS) engineering position for MSFT datacenters is a global role, functioning as a support and guidance role for the monitoring system.  This position is a multi-disciplinary role which involves project management, system technical analysis, developing test guidance, documentation of results and creating proposals of the BMS system.
Responsibilities:
The Battery Monitoring System (BMS) engineering will be responsible for two functions; (1) auditing existing BMS deployed to production data centers for compliance with the new design and writing recommendations for possible retrofit of existing BMS to bring it to the latest design standard. (2) evaluating new BMS designs, ensuring proper testing, testing configuration, and receiving approval. This role will require understanding of several SCADA applications that are deployed as part of the BMS, project management, developing procedures, test plans, documentation, and proposals. This role will interface with operational, design and governance teams.


Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering Discipline.
• 3~~@~~ Years of experience in the design and/or commissioning of Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) or SCADA systems in datacenter critical environments including the Modbus and BACnet protocols.
• 2~~@~~ Years of experience managing projects related to EPMS/SCADA. with the operations and maintenance of building electrical systems (Power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, and related controls systems)

Preferred Qualifications:
• HMI development in EPMS like Schneider SCADA PSO and PME, Eaton Foreseer, etc.
• SCADA implementation and instrumentation field setup.
• Experience with Modbus, BACnet, IEC61850, OPC UA, and/or SNMP communication protocols.
• Organizational and communication experience.
• Project management experience with a focus on agile methodologies • Ability to manage, prioritize and successfully execute multiple concurrent mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Ability to balance competing demands for resources and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proven ability to deliver projects on-time and adherence to deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Experience with technical writing with the ability to provide meaningful and timely reporting for weekly success metrics.
• Proactive approach to work, thinking ahead and anticipating next steps.


Compensation: 35-41.94 Hourly W2 (Open to C2C)
